Stepping Outside of your Comfort Zone

Today’s post is something that has been on my heart to share for awhile now. Basically since we found out that I was pregnant, I’ve been going over and over in my head how to make this space, both my blog and the AM Coffee Collective itself, bigger and better. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching about what direction I want my platform to go in. That’s scary. But that’s especially scary when your heart tells you to go in a new direction then the one you’re already in.

Introducing the AM Coffee Collective Book Club!

YOU GUYS. I am so excited to finally be writing this post. Starting a virtual book club has been something I’ve been dying to do for… well, for a very long time. And the day has finally come! I’ve hinted that there are going to be some pretty big changes coming to the blog and the AM Coffee Collective in the next couple weeks and I’m happy to say that the AM Coffee Club Book Club is one of those things! I’ve started calling the book club AMCC Reads (but feel free to share book club names in the comments). Basically, the point of today’s post is to introduce you to the book club and to give you information on how you can join!

Pregnancy Announcement + Pregnancy Q + A!

Yes, you’re reading that title correctly! If you don’t follow me on Instagram then you may not have seen our super special announcement! We are having a baby! It’s still so surreal to me let alone that I am now writing about it for all of you guys! I have been DYING trying to keep this a secret for the last 10 weeks. It has made everything difficult from writing blog posts to popping into my Instagram stories. Now that the secret is out I’m so excited for things to be getting back to normal around here. Though I will go ahead and say that there ARE going to be some pretty exciting changes happening with the blog and with the AM Coffee Collective and I can’t wait to share those plans with you guys soon.

What We Learned from Our DITY Move to Georgia

This post has been highly requested and pretty much has been something I've been trying to write since we moved from New York to Georgia in June. It's crazy that we've already been here for three months and are working into our fourth right now. For all my non military people who might be reading this, a DITY move is basically a do-it-yourself move. I think the name has actually changed to Personally Procured Move but DITY move definitely rolls off the tongue better. Anyways, that's neither here nor there. There are a lot of reasons to chose a DITY move for military families over having the military move you, one of which being that you actually get reimbursed for the money you spend on the move. You can typically make a decent amount of money off of a DITY move which is why it's so popular among military families. Oh, and you don't have to worry about movers breaking your stuff or getting it mixed up with someone else's belongings. Yeah, real things that happen.

What I'm Reading this Month - September 2018

Ever since I got a library card last month, I've been reading pretty much every day. In August alone, I read 6 different books which is something I can honestly say that I can't remember the last time I was able to do. It has been so refreshing to be able to get back to doing one of the things I love so much, like reading. Since so many of you are also avid readers (and we'll be launching the AM Coffee Collective book club THIS MONTH) I figured I would start sharing the books I'm reading each month with you guys! Any books that I end up love love loving will be included in my blogger monthly favorites round up that I do at the end of each month so definitely check out August's to see which books made the list!

The Story Behind Everything on our Mantle

Our mantle is one of my favorite places in the entire house. I love the eclectic vibe it gives our living room as well as a peek into what Justin and I cherish. Since September and Fall are quickly approaching, I wanted to share the story behind everything on our mantle currently before I start switching things up for fall and the holiday season. I also wanted to share this because I know a lot of you are newlyweds like us or maybe moving in with your significant other for the first time or just decorating your first place. I know how tough it can be to decorate on a budget so I wanted to show that you don't have to spend a lot of money in order to decorate something like a mantle! There are only three items on our mantle that we purchased after moving to Georgia!

Our Unplugged Date to Georgia's Little Grand Canyon featuring Gold Peak Tea at Krystal's

Dating, when you finally find the right person, is probably one of the most blissful parts of a relationship. There are still butterflies, you're still SO excited to see each other when the day ends, and there's still lots of adventures and "firsts" to be had. The possibilities, when you're dating, are really endless. But what happens once you've been dating for a few years and your relationship has seemingly hit a wall of stagnant "date nights" that include watching Netflix while simultaneously scrolling on your phones?

An Honest Conversation about Being a Stay at Home Wife

If you had told me when I was in high school or even college that I would eventually be a stay at home wife (which I'm going to refer to as SAHW for the rest of this post) I probably would have laughed. Who, me? NEVER. But God/The Universe/Whoever is the captain of this ship had other plans apparently. As the end of my time working for the foreseeable future was nearing an end, I began panicking about my new role as a SAHW. Would I hate it? Would I be bored out of my mind? Would I feel happy and fulfilled? There were so many unknowns going into this new role as a SAHW that would cause anyone a great deal of anxiety.

How to Plan a Spontaneous Day Trip to the Beach

My entire life I have dreamed of living near a beach. Since moving to Georgia and realizing that the closest beach was only 3.5 hours away, I have been dying for a trip to the beach. This past weekend, the hubby and I loaded up a cooler and packed the car with all of our beach essentials to drive down to Panama City Beach to meet up with my closest cousin for a day trip!

How to Survive Your 9-5

Anyone who has a 9-5 will tell you that the worst part about a 9-5 is that you work 9-5. While I'm lucky enough to have transitioned out of the 9-5 life, while I was working my desk jobs I often find myself daydreaming about the huge list of things I would rather be doing with my time or could actually be doing with my time, other than being stuck at work. Dreading your morning alarm can be extremely disheartening, especially if you’re not working your dream job. And let's be honest, most people don't start out with their dream job.

5 Things to Do at Epcot as an Adult

The first time I ever wen to Walt Disney World, I was under 5 years old. I was so freaked out by all of the characters that I wouldn't go to any of them, not even Mickey! Finally Snow White somehow coaxed me over to her and actually held me. My parents were shocked! I've been to Disney World three times in total before this week.

10 Lessons I Learned in College (The Hard Way)

Recently my post 5 Things I Regret NOT Doing in College has gotten a lot of traffic which has been given me some serious flashbacks to my college days. I remember how scared I was on the first day of college, just a little freshman who didn't have a clue what the next 4 years were going to have in store. Boy, do I wish I could time travel back in time or write her a letter. If you're a college gal, this post is definitely for you. Here are 10 Lessons I Learned in College (The Hard Way).

Saturday Morning Coffee #32 - Things I've Been Loving this Week

Happy weekend, Y'all! I hope you're gathered around with your coffee this morning and enjoying your weekend so far. First, let me start by saying I apologize that there wasn't a post on Friday. Honestly, Justin came back from the field at 5 am and I completely forgot that I hadn't written anything the night before and wouldn't have time to do it that morning since my husband was home. It's just been one of those weeks!

Saturday Morning Coffee #31 - What I'm Reading This Week

Reading has been my favorite past time for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I distinctly remember weekly trips to the local public library where I would come home with at least 10 books every time. This voracious reading is something I continued through high school until I got to college. In college, I took a lot of English literature classes, even before I was an English major, which meant I was still always reading something. I didn't have time to really read for fun though because I was just so exhausted from the amount of reading I would do for classes.
