Our Wedding: Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses + Unique Bridesmaid Gift Idea

Let me just preface this post by saying that I have the best bridesmaids ever. I mean, seriously, they didn't care that it took me forever to decide what I wanted their bridesmaid dresses to look like AND I changed the color scheme probably 5 times before saying, "eh, this will work" and going with mismatched bridesmaids dresses from Adrianna Papell.

Our Wedding: My Wedding Day Look + Extra Details

My wedding day look was absolutely everything I dreamed it would be. I wanted to look comfortable, myself, and most importantly, beautiful. I was so afraid, given how critical I am of my body, myself in pictures, etc. that I would get our photographs back and absolutely hate the way I looked but I'm happy to report that's not the case! Liza, our wonderful photographer has a way of capturing such natural beauty. I have never looked at one of the pictures she's taken of me and thought I looked bad. That's an art form, in my opinion.

One Year Blogiversary + Huge Announcement!

I honestly never thought I would be writing this post. When I launched this blog a year ago, I never thought I would keep up with it. I had tried and failed in the past to be "a blogger" and each time I failed miserably. But here we are, a year later and the blog is officially one! I have made huge strides with this blog in the past year but none I am more proud of than the community that has been built around it.

Wow, guys. This is the first SMC post straight from our new home in Georgia! I hope you all had a seriously fantastic week. I know mine was filled with lots of cleaning and unpacking but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. I know it's only the first week but I really thought this transition into a full-time blogger/stay-at-home-wife would be more difficult for me. I'm loving it so far but I'll let you guys know how I'm feeling again in a few weeks.

PCS Diary: West Point, New York to Fort Benning, Georgia

Guys, it has been one heck of a week and it's only Wednesday! Justin and I are settling into married life pretty well and ICYMI: we made our first move! Last weekend we moved from New York to Georgia of all places and Y'all... it is HOT. Man, people weren't kidding when they said it was hot and humid down here. Anyways, my girl Tomi over at GOODTOMICHA just recently moved to San Francisco and has these adorable blog posts all about her time there and I thought it would be cute to do something similar to document all over our moves. Because when you're a military family, there sure are a lot of them!

Darrian and Justin | Vlog 81 | We Moved to Georgia!

The last month has been a whirlwind but you guys, we finally moved to Georgia! We spent two days driving from New York to Georgia for our first Army move. The puppies and Justin and I are all doing fine and excited to move into our new house on Monday! I'm sorry this vlog is a little all over the place. I wanted to do a lot more with this moving vlog but it just got so complicated with all of the driving (Justin drove the U-Haul while I followed in the car with the dogs). We are having so much fun exploring our new town and can't wait to share all of the exciting things to come with you guys. Also, you can follow @TheChambleeHouse to see behind-the-scenes of our home before next weeks vlog!

Saturday Morning Coffee #25 - I cut my hair + we're officially moving!

YOU GUYS. I have been waiting for this moment for YEARS. I finally went and got my hair cut this past week just before we left for Georgia! If you know me personally then you know that I typically always have pretty short hair. I mean, after graduating from college I chopped ALL my hair off and got a pixie cut. I actually had a pixie cut when Justin and I first met! After dealing with the upkeep of having a pixie, I decided to start growing my hair out and then we got engaged. So naturally, I have been growing my hair out for a little over three years now.

A Festive Frock for the Fourth

When I picked this little red and white dress up at J. Crew Factory a few weeks ago, I knew instantly that I was going to be grabbing it all summer. It's totally light and breezy and basically screams summer. Not to mention red is such a hot color trend right now. I normally am not the type of girl to pull off a red dress but man do I feel good in this one! I originally purchased this floral frock back in May as a last minute option for West Point grad week and ended up wearing it to Justin's graduation parade where we got this amazing snapshot. Name a more iconic couple, I'll wait.

Darrian and Justin | Vlog 80 | Our First MARRIED Date Night!

Y'all it's our first MARRIED date night! Can you believe it's been almost two weeks since we got married? Neither of us can so we figured it was about time for our first married date night! We plan to have a date night as husband and wife at least once a week throughout our marriage! We are firm believers that date night in relationships is super important. For our first date night as a married couple, we went to our favorite local restaurant and then went to the movies! At the movie theatre, Justin talked me into playing an arcade game and it was SO MUCH FUN! I love that he makes me be a little spontaneous and feel like a kid again! We also have a mini bonus date where we spent Sunday hiking at Bear Mountain!

Saturday Morning Coffee #24 - A Chat about Depression and Suicide

I feel like it's been forever since we had a true Saturday Morning Coffee sit down. I'm sorry to disappoint you but today's might not be exactly what you're looking for but it is something we all need to hear. I have struggled with finding a way to share information with y'all about depression and suicide without being too open and without turning people away, without opening myself up to criticism. I realize now that this isn't the time to be worried about what other people think.
