5 Things to Do at Epcot as an Adult

The first time I ever wen to Walt Disney World, I was under 5 years old. I was so freaked out by all of the characters that I wouldn't go to any of them, not even Mickey! Finally Snow White somehow coaxed me over to her and actually held me. My parents were shocked! I've been to Disney World three times in total before this week.

10 Lessons I Learned in College (The Hard Way)

Recently my post 5 Things I Regret NOT Doing in College has gotten a lot of traffic which has been given me some serious flashbacks to my college days. I remember how scared I was on the first day of college, just a little freshman who didn't have a clue what the next 4 years were going to have in store. Boy, do I wish I could time travel back in time or write her a letter. If you're a college gal, this post is definitely for you. Here are 10 Lessons I Learned in College (The Hard Way).

Saturday Morning Coffee #32 - Things I've Been Loving this Week

Happy weekend, Y'all! I hope you're gathered around with your coffee this morning and enjoying your weekend so far. First, let me start by saying I apologize that there wasn't a post on Friday. Honestly, Justin came back from the field at 5 am and I completely forgot that I hadn't written anything the night before and wouldn't have time to do it that morning since my husband was home. It's just been one of those weeks!

Entryway + Living Room Tour

I swear I did not intend for half of the blog posts this week to be home decor themed... I had something else entirely planned for today and it just didn't work out the way I wanted it to. Hello, writer's block. Anyways, you guys have been dying to see how we've been furnishing the house and after another failed attempt at finding throw pillows yesterday, I decided to go ahead and share our entryway and living room with you guys!

Saturday Morning Coffee #31 - What I'm Reading This Week

Reading has been my favorite past time for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I distinctly remember weekly trips to the local public library where I would come home with at least 10 books every time. This voracious reading is something I continued through high school until I got to college. In college, I took a lot of English literature classes, even before I was an English major, which meant I was still always reading something. I didn't have time to really read for fun though because I was just so exhausted from the amount of reading I would do for classes.

Saturday Morning Coffee #30 - A Note about Pursuing your Dreams

Blogging has never been about the money for me. When I started my first blog back in college, it was more of like a journal than anything else (according to the cringe-worthy Facebook statuses I'm reminded of every day thanks to the Memories feature). Then my blogs slowly evolved into places where I could share my story in the hopes of connecting with other people who had similar stories. I remember the first time I read an comment from someone who found one of my blog posts about anxiety who decided to let me know just how helpful she found it. That's when blogging really became something more. Every time I write a blog post, it is with the goal in mind that if it only helps even just one person, my job will be done. In fact, the only other real goal I've had when it comes to blogging is to have a self-sustained blog.

Places We Love at Fort Benning

I know there are new people coming to Fort Benning every day so I figured a round-up of the places Justin and I are loving so far would be super helpful for anyone who is new to the area. I blinked and we've been here a month already and man, there's a lot you can do here in a month. Granted, most of the places we love involve food and/or beer but that's just us. We have been loving exploring our new area on the weekends so maybe I'll update this post regularly throughout our time here.

The Best Places to Shop for Furniture on a Newlywed Budget

Anyone who has ever furnished a home knows that it's not cheap. I mean the cost of rugs alone will break any newlywed's budget in an instant! But when the tough gets going, the tough spend long hours searching on the Internet for the best deals to stretch their money further. That's the way the saying goes, right? When Justin and I got married I knew we would be starting out with very minimal furniture. I had a bedroom set that I had purchased when I moved to New York but with two dogs and two people sleeping in it every night, we knew we wanted to upgrade to a king size bed (which is funny because now we've stopped letting the dogs sleep with us all together). Other than a few random desks and tables I had acquired over the years, we would be heading to Georgia with virtually no furniture.

An Honest Conversation about Judging Someone on Instagram

I debated on whether or not I was going to write the post you are reading right now because it isn't the one that I had planned for today. But when I woke up Thursday morning, wide awake at 3 AM, I knew it was a message that needed to be shared. Literally, Y'all, it is 3:40 AM when I'm writing this. It all started with a DM on Instagram. Instagram was letting me know that I had been tagged to do one of those Instagram story games. For this particular game, you were supposed to share a picture of yourself from one, three, and five years ago.

What to ACTUALLY Expect when Planning a Wedding

About a week ago on Instagram, I asked you all to send me recommendations on the kind of blog posts you wanted to see in the next month or so. One of the suggestions I got had to do with what to expect when planning a wedding. I figured that not only would this be a great way for me to round up all of the wedding planning posts I've done over the course of our engagement but also be a great way to share with Y'all the different phases of wedding planning.

A Letter to a West Point Significant Other

I have been seeing a lot of updates recently on the USMA Class of 2022 and their R-Day/BEAST experience and I started thinking about what was going through the minds of all of the loved ones they left behind. But specifically, the girlfriends and boyfriends that are about to embark on this journey with them. While Justin and I weren't together until halfway into his first year at West Point, the distance we've gained from West Point since graduation just a few short months ago has allowed me the chance to reflect on what it looks like to be dating someone who goes to West Point. I wanted to write this "letter" for lack of a better word to encourage those couples who are currently in a West Point relationship.
